RSO Funding Information

Each school year, about $240,000 of student fee money will be allocated to Registered Student Organizations through Associated Student Government. The Associated Student Government (ASG) Senate elects, from its members, an Appropriations Committee to allocate the funds dedicated to Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). The ASG Appropriations Committee reviews applications, conducts interviews, and decides what events to fund. Below you will find a packet designed to explain how to apply for ASG funds.

Basic Funding Guidelines

In order to apply for funding groups must meet these minimum requirements.

  • RSOs must be registered with the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement
  • RSOs must not knowingly present false documents or information to ASG.
  • RSOs governing board or equivalent must consist of at least 3/4 students.
  • RSOs must not receive funding from other University of Arkansas fees, sporting events, living group, or living group organization.

ASG Oct/Nov Funding Round for Spring 2010 Funds

The Oct/Nov 2009 funding round is for RSOs wishing to request money for the spring 2010 semester (January 11 – June 30). Please make sure that you have completed your registration requirements with CLCE in order to be eligible for funding. In addition, it is required that an officer representative attend one of the following informational meetings for this round in order to participate in the budget request process, regardless if you have attended a meeting in the past. The process for submitting your budgets will be explained, as well as what type of things you are able to request funding for.

If none of your officers are able to attend an informational meeting due to class conflict, contact Lyndsy Manz (lmanz@uark.edu) to coordinate a private session with the ASG Treasurer by 5pm Thursday October 29th.

Budgets are due Tuesday, November 3rd  at 12:00pm (noon) to asgrso@uark.edu
If you request more than $1,000 you will need to sign up for an interview with the committee. Interviews will take place November 5-8th , please stop by the ASG Office (AU A669) on November 3rd after 12 noon to sign up for an interview.

For additional Spring funds available February 24th- June 30th:

For Fall 2010 funds available July 1st – December 31st :
Required Informational Funding Meetings March 8th – 11th  
Budgets due Tuesday March 16th at 12 noon to asgrso@uark.edu

Spending Your ASG Funds

Please keep these in mind:

  • In order to purchase anything whatsoever with ASG funds, you must fill out the request to purchase from AT LEST 10 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
  • NO REIMBURSEMENTS ARE PERMITTED WHATSOEVER.
  • In order to purchase anything from Walmart or Sam's Club, you must fill out the Wal-mart reservation request from AT LEAST 10 BUSINESS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
  • Date change and re-allocation request must be filled out WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER THE SCHEDULED EVENT DATE.

If your RSO has been approved for ASG funds please follow the guidelines received during your packet pick up and the forms below. Please note that all forms are due to the ASG Office (AU A669) at least two weeks before your event occurs, in some cases sooner. Please plan ahead.
